Meet Carwyn Morgan – ContainerCo’s Business Improvement Manager.
A name that needs little introduction, Carwyn recently celebrated more than 30 years in New Zealand’s container logistics and servicing industry. For almost 21 years with ContainerCo (October 2026), he has been the driving force behind countless innovations that have improved the way we work – delivering safer, smarter and more sustainable outcomes for both our business and the wider industry.
Among his long list of achievements are:
• Pioneering Water-Based Paints – introducing innovative waterborne coatings to replace traditional hydrocarbon solvent-based products.
• 3-Tier PTI Towers – championing the development of our three-tier refrigerated container inspection towers, increasing servicing capacity from around 50 reefers to up to 150 within the same footprint.
• Solar Energy Generation – leading the rollout of solar technology to offset grid demand while powering reefer operations and our growing EV fleet.
• Container ‘Boxing Rings’ – developing a safer, more efficient system for carrying out repairs on container roofs.
• Water Harvesting & Treatment – implementing systems that capture and treat trade wastewater to potable water standards.
• Portable Wash Bay System – designing an innovative mobile wash bay solution that is currently protected by an active patent.
And that’s only part of the story.
Carwyn’s passion for innovation extends well beyond ContainerCo. Through his active involvement with the Container Park Industry (CPI) Sub-Group of the PIA, he continues to help shape industry standards, improve safety, champion sustainability and drive better outcomes across New Zealand’s container logistics sector.
