A gateway depot for New Zealand’s busiest port

The site is strategically located on and integrated with the Port of Tauranga, the country’s largest and most advanced container terminal. This depot enables unmatched access for our international shipping line clients, and exceptional connectivity to both road and rail distribution.

Port-integrated for maximum efficiency
Operating since 1998, Sulphur Point offers 54,388m² of hardstand area and 6,800 TEU of capacity, for our global shipping line customers. As a fully port-integrated depot, TCP receives empty containers directly off vessels, streamlining handovers and reducing turnaround times.
The site also provides direct rail and road access for efficient connections to inland destinations and nearby warehousing customers.
Connecting the Golden Triangle
Sulphur Point is directly linked to New Zealand’s busiest inland hubs including the Ruakura Superhub. With access to Port of Tauranga’s full-service railhead, containers can move seamlessly from ship or depot to rail.
Sulphur Point depot highlights
With 41% of New Zealand’s shipping container volume passing through this busy gateway, and with the ability to directly service the largest container ships visiting our shores, Sulphur Point provides our shipping line clients unmatched access, scale, and turnaround speed.
