ContainerCo is delighted to confirm it has ordered New Zealand’s first ECG90-110 Electric Empty Container Handler to add into its growing fleet of electric vehicles and equipment. The order was made in preparation for the completion of ContainerCo’s new Tauriko container depot, due for completion in mid-2026.
The Kalmar ECG90-110 is an advanced handling solution offering flexible battery and charging options, eco-efficiency, and an ergonomic, quiet driving experience. It can place empty containers from 5 to 8 high, and can pick, lift and stack a wide variety of empty containers:
- 20’, 30’ or 40’ containers picking up in the 20’, 30’ or 40’ position
- 45’, 48’ or 53’ containers picking up in the 40’ position
Equipped with an array of innovative standard safety features, the ECG90-110 will help contribute to a safer working environment for our ContainerCo Tauriko team.
The fully electric empty container handler produces no CO2 emissions during operation, supporting our ongoing commitment to a lower-carbon future. Its introduction will also help us to support our clients in their own Scope 3 emission reduction programmes.
We are excited to be first to market in New Zealand with a state-of-the-art Kalmar EV Container Handler for our new depot site in Tauriko, currently in development. This investment is further evidence of ContainerCo’s commitment to adopting smarter and cleaner ways of operating wherever possible.
